The Kilargo KG5102 is a two-piece, low-profile intumescent perimeter seal set for upgrading existing proprietary fire doors enabling a clean build-up of non-rated steel frames with only 15 mm stops, in lieu of the conventional 25 mm stops fire doors normally require. Self-adhesive application; up to 2 hours fire resistance.

What It’s Used For

Use the KG5102 when converting or certifying doors in non-rated steel frames with shallow 15mm stops common in older commercial buildings where a standard fire door detail can’t be achieved. The two-piece set builds the stop up into a compliant fire-sealing detail.

Combine with a Kilargo Fire Door Bottom Upgrade seal (FDBU20/60) to upgrade doors to comply with AS 1905.1. Confirm test coverage for your door type with Kilargo technical or the door manufacturer.

Compliance & What It Means

Fire rated AS 1530.4 / AS 1905.1 (up to 2 hours). Fully tested to AS 1530.4 for up to 2 hours on proprietary fire door assemblies in accordance with AS 1905.1. In a fire, the intumescent core expands to many times its size and seals the gap, blocking flames, heat and hot toxic gases keeping the door assembly’s fire rating intact.Brings non-compliant fire doors back to compliance. AS 1905.1 sets strict limits on fire door clearances. Where gaps exceed the allowable limit, the door fails inspection. This upgrade seal is the cost-effective fix it restores compliance without rebuilding or replacing the door.

Fire and smoke approvals apply to tested, proprietary door assemblies. Always confirm suitability for your specific door type and required rating with your fire door manufacturer or building certifier.
