Door Functions Explained

The handle set is the same in each case the latch or lock behind it is what changes.

Function	What it does
Passage	The latch operates from both sides at all times and does not lock. For bedrooms, living areas, studies any door that simply opens and closes.
Privacy	Locks from the inside with a turn or snib, with an emergency release on the outside. For bathrooms, ensuites and bedrooms.
Entrance / Euro	Key-lockable using a euro-profile cylinder in a euro mortice lock. For front, back and any door that must lock with a key.
Skeleton Key (Traditional)	A traditional 3 lever mortice lock operated by a skeleton key, with a key escutcheon on each face. For period doors.
Dummy / Fixed	A fixed handle with no latch. Used as a pull on a fixed panel or the inactive leaf of a double door.
