The Kilargo KP2004 is a rigid, PVC-encased intumescent fire seal rebated into the perimeter of fire door assemblies. In a fire the sodium-silicate core expands to many times its volume, sealing the door perimeter against flames, hot smoke and toxic gases fully tested to AS 1530.4 for up to 2 hours on proprietary fire doors.

What It’s Used For

Specify the KP2004 for machined-groove fire sealing in new fire doors and frames door manufacturers and frame fabricators rebate it flush into the edge, where the PVC casing protects the core from knocks and paint for the life of the door.

Use with a Kilargo medium-temperature smoke seal (IS1212, IS1515 or IS0511) to maintain tenable conditions across all smoke temperatures in a fully developed fire scenario.

Compliance & What It Means

Fire rated AS 1530.4 / AS 1905.1 (up to 2 hours). Fully tested to AS 1530.4 for up to 2 hours on proprietary fire door assemblies in accordance with AS 1905.1. In a fire, the intumescent core expands to many times its size and seals the gap, blocking flames, heat and hot toxic gases keeping the door assembly’s fire rating intact.

Fire and smoke approvals apply to tested, proprietary door assemblies. Always confirm suitability for your specific door type and required rating with your fire door manufacturer or building certifier.
