The Kilargo IS8520si is a heavy-duty automatic door bottom seal engineered for high-performance acoustic door systems. Its parallel-motion mechanism drops the silicone gasket evenly along its full length as the door closes, sealing gaps of 615 mm against sound, fire, smoke and draughts and it can be face-fixed, semi-rebated or fully mortised.

What It’s Used For

The IS8520si is the drop seal for doors where sound really matters recording studios, music rooms, courtrooms, boardrooms, hotel rooms, apartments and acoustic-rated corridor doors. It appears throughout Kilargo’s published acoustic doorset systems alongside perimeter seals like the IS7087si and IS7195si.

It carries full fire and smoke approvals as well, so acoustic doors can double as compliant fire or smoke doors.

Fire tested AS 1530.4 / AS 1905.1. Fire tested to AS 1530.4 (the Australian standard fire-resistance test) in accordance with AS 1905.1, the standard for fire-rated doorsets. In plain terms: this seal has been proven on proprietary fire door assemblies, so it can be specified on fire doors without compromising the door’s fire rating.Certified GVYI.R26629, GVWZ.R26629, GVWZ7.R26629. Carries independent product certifications (GVYI.R26629, GVWZ.R26629, GVWZ7.R26629), giving certifiers and building surveyors documented evidence of compliance.Smoke tested AS 1530.7 / AS 6905. Holds medium-temperature (200C) smoke leakage approvals to AS 1530.7, compliant with AS 6905 on proprietary door assemblies. This is the test the BCA relies on for smoke doors it verifies the seal keeps hot, toxic smoke from leaking past the door for the required 30 minutes.Smoke sealing BCA/NCC Specification C3.4. Conforms with Building Code of Australia (NCC) Specification C3.4 smoke sealing requirements. Smoke not flame is the biggest killer in building fires, and C3.4 sets out how door gaps must be sealed so escape routes stay clear of smoke.Acoustic tested AS 1191 / ISO 140-3 / ISO 10140-2.
